The weekends away that we organise can be very popular, and they are a great way of really getting away for a short break in the great outdoors and getting to know people a little better . For this reason, all weekends away which involve a restriction on numbers (i.e. a bunkhouse) will be limited to members of the group with a *current Ramblers Association membership.
*current: Membership is active and paid up for the year.
For safety and insurance reasons, all attendees have to book officially through the Weekends Away Coordinator, and this will be on a strictly first come first serve basis – but please ensure you have emailed all the required details to secure your booking. Once you receive confirmation of your booking, you will have 7 days to arrange payment to the group account. If you fail to do this, your place will be opened up to the next person on the list. If you’re not a RA member affiliated to our group, or if you have a feeling you might not have got round to renewing your membership(!), and would like to go on a weekend away then please join in advance of the opening of the booking.
For weekends away which are camping trips, it is unlikely that there will be a restriction of numbers. However, most campsites do not accept groups and a limit may have to be enforced if it looks like the group is getting too large. For safety reasons, we still need to know whether you plan to come to a camping weekend.
Please read the notes below before you email to book on a weekend away. If you send an email without the correct details, you may not secure a booking. In addition, due to the popularity of weekends in bunkbarns, we will only take bookings for individuals.

Details
In the past, members of the group have had many a weekend at the May and September Langdale Folk Festivals. Both weekends will be self organised, with possible car/tent shares arranged on the forum or at socials/new members nights.
The Saturday walk will be the longest and most strenuous of the weekend (10.75 miles/5.5-6.5 hours), to the highest pub in England – Tan Hill Inn (see walk programme page for more details). Sunday’s walk will be a shorter, more leisurely, low level walk likely to be Keld – Muker (around 6.5 miles/3- 4hours) but these are obviously weather dependent. Those wishing to do an easier walk on the Saturday are welcome to organise their own.
